Where is Leeds trending?
The football match between the two Yorkshire sides was marred by bad behaviour from fans, including bottles and seating being thrown onto the pitch. Leeds were initially leading 1-0, and it was when former Leeds player Michael Tonge equalised for Sheffield Wednesday that fans invaded the pitch. One, who has not yet been identified, blind-sided Kirkland, knocking him to the ground, before escaping to the stands.
Sheffield manager Dave Jones has branded the Leeds fans “Vile animals” and condemned Leeds manager, Neil Warnock, for sending his players to clap the fans at the end of the game. Warnock has responded that “it was just one moron” and stated that the majority of Leeds fans will want the man caught. The individual has been widely named on Twitter however Leeds United have stated they are unable to name the culprit but will do whatever they can to identify him.
